Vega Sport Premium

A highly marketed vegan option that blends pea, pumpkin seed, organic sunflower seed, and alfalfa protein. We tested the Vanilla flavor.

Amino Acid Profile & Heavy Metals

The blend achieves a respectable amino acid profile, compensating for pea protein's lack of methionine. However, the high sodium content (common in pea extracts) is a concern for those tracking sodium intake. Heavy metal testing showed levels within safe FDA limits, but higher than dairy equivalents.

Value Density

At over £1.40 per 25g of protein, this is a very expensive product. You are paying a premium for the "Sport" branding and added probiotics/tart cherry (the clinical efficacy of which at these doses is highly questionable).

Final Verdict

It works, and the amino profile is good for a vegan powder. However, it is overpriced and overly salty. There are better, cheaper pea/rice blends on the market.
